I want to start off by apologizing for the extremely long hiatus. I took a step back from the blog to process some things. I requested and received Lil Unicorn’s medical records and was attempting to go through them and possibly connect some dots or even organize information more clearly to make doctor appointments easier. What I found, however, was that I was missing pieces to this already complicated puzzle, and I got more and more frustrated and annoyed and needed time to process the information. Most of the pieces were notes from doctors over the years, confirming symptoms that I had mentioned that had been brushed off.
For example, LU has suffered from abdominal distention and discomfort. Doctors kept telling me that they didn’t see it, they have never seen it, etc. Yet I find in the records that she was literally BORN distended. Badly enough that they documented it, ran xrays immediately after birth, and were concerned about several things. This was never mentioned to me. At all. As well as the fact that she swallowed meconium before she was born, which I found out from a passing comment from a provider at a recent (at the time) appointment. Again, never mentioned to me.
So I took time to step back. I needed to really gather myself and my own attitude so I did not run off with half information or accusations. But now I am back. I have a LOT of updates, and a lot of information to add. Those will come soon!
